Luis E. Velasco received a law degree from the “Universidad de Buenos Aires” (1974).
Professional experience: Luis provides legal advice in highly complex litigation, in the areas of business criminal law, tax criminal, hazardous waste, foreign exchange, money laundering prevention, corporate governance and other general criminal matters.
From a young age he began his career in the Judicial Power of the Nation. In 1984 he was appointed National Criminal Judge of Instruction in charge of Court No. 8. In 1993 he was appointed Judge of the Federal Criminal Court of the Federal Capital. He currently practices in a private and independent way as an external consultant of the firm.

Academic Activity: He was appointed by the “Universidad Católica Argentina“ as Consulting Professor (2008), after an extensive career as Professor of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminal Law in Degree, and Special Criminal Law in the Postgraduate (University of Buenos Aires and University of Belgrano). In addition, he was appointed Academic Holder at the Academy of the Sea (2012).
He has been a lecturer in numerous legal congresses, courses and conferences, both in Argentina and abroad on topics of his specialty, among them: money laundering, corruption, etc.
Memberships: He has a long career in the Argentine maritime sports field, he has been President of the Argentine Yachting Federation (1988-2005), Vice President of the South American Sailing Confederation (2000-2008). He has been Counselor of the Argentine Olympic Committee (1998-2008) in addition to being appointed International Judge of Yachting (1995-Present). He is currently a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal and Chairman of the Yachting Commission of the San Isidro Yacht Club and Extraordinary Partner of the Argentine Yacht Club. All this has led to the participation of various port installation projects within the country.
Also, he integrates the Criminal Lawyers Society of Buenos Aires.
